We cannot deny that plumped lips (aka Kylie Jenner lips) are the trend right now. Who wouldn’t want to have gorgeous healthy looking plumped lips? Good news! On today’s episode of DIY Skincare, we will be talking about ‘Natural Lips Plumper’. No surgery or injection needed! Bad lips plumper could also cause you red, flaky, burning lips. With natural lips plumper, there’s no need to worry about that. Its skin friendly, not harmful and last but not least, it tastes great!
Side Effects of Lip Plumper Products
Niacin used in lip plumper products could cause spiky, itchy feelings around your mouth area – they are used to increase blood flow, which can cause itchiness. Redness and burning are very common. Mostly are caused by allergic reactions toward the product. Benzyl nicotinate in these products could result in tingling feeling and cause excessive swelling. Also, chapped lips could be a result from excessive use of lip plumper products.
What Can You Do to Get Gorgeous Plumped Lips?
Natural lips plumper are skin friendly; however, being skin friendly often means that you would not get the result as quick as you want. Patience is the key. Yet, other than using lips plumper, protecting your lips from sun damage – aging, lip shrinking, is also important. Remember to keep hydrating your lips and protect it from the sun by using chap sticks with SPF.
DIY Lips Plumper
Salt and Cinnamon
This method is best to be use before going to sleep. Wake up the next morning with a fresh-plumped lip!
Mix half a teaspoon of salt and cinnamon. Add a tablespoon of honey (or petroleum jelly, both works fine) and mix well. To use, just rub the mixture over your lips with your finger until they are smooth on the lips. Leave for 5 minutes and wipe off. In the morning, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly onto your lips.
Cayenne Pepper and Cinnamon
Make sure to apply lip balm before applying. Applying on dry or cracked lips may cause irritation caused by pepper.
Mix 3 tablespoons of honey (or petroleum jelly) together with half a tablespoon of cinnamon and cayenne pepper. Start applying in small doses – it takes time to get used to the burning feeling from pepper!
Cinnamon and Honey
Cinnamon alone can do you magic!
Start off by applying petroleum jelly all over your lips to keep them moist. Mix some cinnamon and honey together. However, don’t use too much cinnamon as too much of it can irritate your throat. Apply the mixture onto your lips and leave it for a few minutes. Wipe off the mixture from your lips and apply petroleum jelly.
