Natural Mineral Powder + Bronzer

If you’ve read my acne masks post you’ll know that I’m forever putting my skin through turmoil and bringing pimples on myself. Using a natural mineral based foundation helps with keeping your skin clear too, since you can do away with all the toxic chemicals. As an added bonus, you can turn this recipe into a natural bronzer too!

Chemicals to Avoid

Mineral makeup is made with earth-derived pigments like titanium dioxide, iron oxide, zinc oxide, and micas, as a replacement for artificial colors like aluminum lake and FD&C colors. While mica has tiny particles that help you achieve the flawless look, these particles can also fall quickly through the air and be easily inhaled into your lungs. Construction workers also use mica for things like fill up holes in walls – and they’ll wear masks to protect their lungs from scarring over time from it. So yep. Avoid mica people. Instead, use…

Natural Mineral Veil Powder

Ingredients: 1 tbsp cornstarch, ½ tsp baby powder, cocoa powder (as much as you think you need)

This works as a mineral veil powder and helps set your makeup. It can also be used to touch up shiny spots through the day so you don’t have to cake on the foundation.
