In this blog we have raved on the benefits of scrubbing your skin for so many times. Yet, this will be another post on exfoliating. Since exfoliating is the basic of skincare, another post on it would hurt right? There are so many benefits you will get just by exfoliating your skin. This time we won’t be talking about exfoliating your face – but the body! Exfoliating is one of the key steps in getting a good, healthy skin. If you’re still not convinced on why you should exfoliate, keep reading this post for many more reasons!
Great Reasons for Exfoliating the Skin
Exfoliating your skin before you shave will remove any dead skin cells that could clog your razor blades. It will help you to get the closest shave as possible, giving you a smooth and clean shave. If blackheads, whiteheads or breakouts (on your back or anywhere really) is one of your problems, exfoliating can help as it will unclog and clean your pores. By exfoliating, it helps skin care products to penetrate deeper into the skin. Don’t blame the product if it doesn’t work on you if you have piles of dead skins on your skin. It is essential to exfoliate if you are someone who likes to use tanning products – spray tans or tanning lotions. As mentioned, exfoliating will help the skin to absorb products better. This means, fake tan will last even longer. Having an uneven skin tone will no longer be your concern if you exfoliate. Leftover dirt and makeup as well as layers of dead skin will be removed by exfoliating, revealing a bright, new skin that’s hiding underneath the old layer. Fine lines and wrinkles stands out as the result of dead and dull skin cells. Last but not least, exfoliating improves your skin’s texture. It is the easiest way to revive dry and dull skin. Make sure to exfoliate on a regular basis!
Fruity Body Scrubs
Citrus Salt Scrub
Mix together 1/2 cup of salt (or sugar – whichever you prefer), 1/2 cup olive oil (or whichever type you prefer), and 1 teaspoon citrus zest (lemon, orange, or any citrus of your choice, might as well mix them!). Use this scrub by rubbing on the skin while in the shower and rinse off.
2. Tomato Sugar Scrub
Tomatoes contain lycopene, which have the properties to cool down the skin. This scrub is a great scrub to cool the skin affected by sun burn. You can add any essential oils if you want to.
Mix together 1 large chopped tomato, 2 cups sugar, 3/4 cup oil (coconut oil or olive oil, whichever you prefer), and any essential oil if you wish to. Mix well in a large bowl. Use in the shower by rubbing the scrub onto the skin before rinsing off.
Hope this post can convince you guys to exfoliate on regular basis! Any other scrubs you prefer? Let us know!
